Option Two- Week of January 16th

How has fear hurt or hindered people I know?

Being really honest, what are some things that I am fearful about?

In what ways have I used fear as an excuse to not step out and trust God?

Proverbs 19:23 says, “The fear of the Lord leads to life.” This means to treat God as the most powerful and significant person in my life. As they say in AA, “He is my Higher Power.” Fearing Him means I respect and surrender my life to His authority and care.

When I fear the Lord, I have God’s promises like this one in 1 Peter 5:6-7:

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

When I give into my fear, I am saying that what I fear is more important/powerful than God.

Giving God my fear and worry is a choice to trust Him.

What is a fear or worry that I need to trust God to help me with this week?

Who will I ask to be my prayer and support partner in this?

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
