Option Two- Week of October 9th

reviewing the message notes, dig deeper by meditating on the following passages that reinforce the message.

We have access to God’s promises because of what Jesus did for us.

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

Hebrews 10:10 (NLT)

Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:18 (NLT)

We can live our lives based on His promises, because He supplies us the power.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in

Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8 (NLT)

19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT)

We can prove that we are followers by growing in knowledge, character and service to others.

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

James 2:17 (NLT)

If we are unwilling to be uncomfortable, we will not grow.

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

[Jesus speaking figuratively] If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Matthew 5:29-30 (NIV)
