Option Two- Week of August 19th

The beginning of the passage the message focused on says this:

31 But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.’

Matthew 25:31-34 (NLT)

Jesus wants you and me to understand that the authenticity of our faith will show up in how we treat others, especially those in need. This is what we see in Jesus and what He expects to see in us.

Think about the people you have contact with, particularly people that fit the specific categories that Jesus mentions (hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, in prison). Write their names or where you see them.

Now think of some people that may have different needs, but still fit what Jesus is talking about (i.e. socially awkward co-worker or neighbor). Write their name or where you see them.

Jesus wants us to treat the people around us like He would, showing interest, compassion and concern. Pray for each of the ones you listed and ask Him to give you the love and courage to do something for them in Jesus’ name.
